From Lived Experience to Policy Action: Evidence and Recommendations from Veteran-Led Workshops in Ukraine

This Workshop Report synthesizes evidence from veteran-led reintegration workshops held in Kyiv in May 2025, bringing together veterans, their families, families of the fallen, and institutional representatives. It analyzes veterans’ lived experiences and institutional arrangements across micro, meso, and macro levels, highlighting critical gaps in psychosocial support, economic opportunities, social recognition, and coordinated policy implementation. The report offers concrete, veteran-led and locally grounded recommendations to help policymakers, practitioners, and researchers develop systematic reintegration strategies that strengthen social cohesion and Ukraine’s long-term recovery.
